| What is the best concert you have been to? What do you like most about playing live? | Best Concert, as an overall comment was Beyonce Renaissance… But Kim Petras Feed The Beast Tour spoke to me strongest. Her unapologetic messages of who she is, who she is targeting with her product and stance within her confidence is inspiring to say the least. I love the spontaneity of playing live as it allows me to continually discover new facets of myself as an artist. Our art evolves and improves over time, reflecting our dedication and growth. Engaging with the audience and creating connections to deliver high-quality art is truly rewarding. The profound connection forged through moments of stillness, a glance, or a breath is what embodies star quality and the exhilaration of live performances. |
| Is there a song on your latest CD release here that stands out as your personal favorite, and why? | Dan Slater’s remix of GET DOWN is a huge reflection of my journey over the last few year, learning more about circuit music. i love the rush and that grandness that circuit music brings and how its sound can unite so many with its vibe. The first time i got to hear dance Remix. I described it as MAJESTIC, which was the first time i had ever used that word when describing circuit music. I see this track, as well as all of the incredible remixes of GET DOWN existing and thriving on so many different dance floors all over the world |
| How have you evolved as an artist over the last year? | I have really begun to alleviate the over thinking a concept or the complexity of lyrics. As i continue to write and conceptually push myself, I think of song writing as story telling, leaving a listener with a lasting feeling. The music takes them on a journey so be affected and feel different after hearing the song. Every time something happens in life now; something good, something sad, something intense; it inspires me to bring it to rhythm, rhyme, a verse chorus, and bridge and hook. On top of my languages of dancing and acting, writing and singing have become another outlet to express and tell my stories. |
| If you could meet, play a gig, co-write a song, have dinner, have a drink with any band or artist (dead or alive) who would it be? | P!nk! the most loving, caring badass out there. Also, her and i on stage together, giving high energy pop rock flying acrobatics… The world would implode! |
| What’s next for you? | Everyone is about to GET DOWN WITH JOEY! I’m going to perform all over the world, meet lots of people who inspire me, collaborate, make more art, more music, evolve, transcend and make myself proud. |
