“WHEN DEADMAU5 PLAYED SHOWS, HIS EGO GOT SO INFLATED HE NEEDED TO HAVE A LONG TERM SOLUTION FOR IT”

DEADMAU5, arguably among the more talented people in EDM, rose to fame partly because of his notable Mouse helmet.

However, rather than a gimmick, it’s reported to be a doctor’s prescription.

Whenever Deadmau5 has to play another major EDM festival, he gets so frustrated by all the non-talent wankers, promoter people and stage crews, his ego inflates to unworkable proportions.

In order to calm it down and keep it in place, he needs to wear the mouse head so he can concentrate on hitting the play button at just the right time.

The mouse head not only keeps the ego in place, it’s also completely soundproof so he doesn’t have to listen to anyone else’s shit. In fact, it completely shields him from having to listen to his own shit too.

Mau5 gets cues from the public as to when to throw his hands in the air, or to push a few obsolete buttons on his control panel.

To make the performance more bearable, Deadmau5 listens to some of his favorite bands such as Boards of Canada, Plastikman and Aphex Twin: artists that generally don’t make a lot of money or have to sell saké as a side business in order to keep up with their bills.

Dillon Dudzinski, a mechanical engineer working for LED Helmet Enterprises explains: “When Deadmau5 played shows, his ego got so inflated he needed to have a long term solution for it. To keep his ego in place, we created a helmet that both keeps the ego in place as well as provides entertainment value.”
